Activity description

Basell Orlen Polyolefins Sp. z o.o. (BOP) is a Polish joint venture company specialising in the production of polyolefins.

The company was established in 2003 by Basell Europe Holdings B.V. and PKN ORLEN SA. Each partner holds a 50 percent share. BOP is the largest plastics producer in Poland and operates two world-scale plants in Płock for the production of polyethylene and polypropylene. The annual capacity of these modern plants is 800 thousand tonnes, of which 480 thousand tonnes is polypropylene (PP) produced using Spheripol technology and 320 thousand tonnes is high-density polyethylene (HDPE) produced using Hostalen technology. Both technologies are licensed by a LyondellBasell Group company.
BOP has a wholly owned trading subsidiary, Basell Orlen Polyolefins Sprzedaż Sp. z o.o. (BOPS), which supplies Polish polyolefin processors with products from the LyondellBasell portfolio manufactured at three plants in Płock, as well as polyolefins produced outside Poland. The products offered by BOPS are widely used in both consumer and industrial markets, including the production of packaging, films, fibres and textiles, as well as automotive parts and pipes.

BOPS has an extensive sales network, well-developed customer service channels and technical service for its customer base in Poland.
