Activity description

M&R LAB Microbiology & Research specialises in microbiological testing of products and materials with antibacterial, antifungal and anti-algal properties that help maintain hygiene in everyday surroundings and in medical and veterinary areas.

We have experience in testing antibacterial coatings and porous and non-porous surfaces, such as rigid plastics, flexible polymers, nitrile, latex, films, silicones, glass, ceramics, etc. We also test antibacterial paints, varnishes, biocides and additives with antimicrobial activity. We assess the resistance of materials to biofilm formation.

We test plastics in accordance with PN EN ISO 846, which determines the fungistatic effect of a material and the ability of bacteria to use it as a nutrient source. We test antibacterial gloves in accordance with ASTM D7907, which evaluates their effectiveness against 4 bacterial strains. The ISO 22196 and JIS Z 2801 methods are used to assess antimicrobial activity and protective effectiveness against E. coli, S. aureus or another selected strain.

Based on our extensive experience and knowledge, we select the test method appropriate to the material and the purpose of the test. We take part in innovative research and development projects.
