Borouge International has announced the appointment of Roland Janssen as chief commercial officer, effective 1 October 2026. Based at the company's headquarters in Vienna, Janssen will succeed Stefan Doboczky, who has decided to leave the company to pursue a new opportunity. The appointment comes as Borouge International continues work on its integration and growth priorities. In the new position, Janssen will lead the company's global commercial organisation, oversee and expand customer relationships, and advance commercial priorities across its key markets. He brings more than 25 years of international commercial and industry experience. Most recently, he served as senior vice president, global sales and marketing at Borouge International. Earlier in his career, he held senior management positions at Borealis and Borouge, with responsibilities related to customer partnerships, commercial growth and the companies' presence in international markets.
Commercial leadership change
Borouge International chief executive officer Roger Kearns said: "I would like to thank Stefan for his leadership and the contribution he has made to Borouge International during an important period for the company. We wish him every success in his new role. Roland's appointment reflects the depth of talent across our organization and our confidence in the future. As we continue building Borouge International, he will help build on our momentum, advance our strategic priorities and create long-term value for our shareholders."
Janssen has spent more than a decade at Borealis and Borouge and has worked across Europe, the Middle East, Asia and the Americas. According to the company, this background has given him experience of its business, markets, customers and the complementary capabilities being brought together within Borouge International.
Roland Janssen, incoming chief commercial officer, said: "I am excited to take on this role at an important point in Borouge International's journey and look forward to building on the strong foundation established by our teams. Having spent over a decade at both Borealis and Borouge and having worked across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and the Americas, I have a deep understanding of the business, markets, customers and the complementary capabilities we are able to bring together as one company. As we continue into this next phase of our growth, my focus will be on staying close to our customers and advancing our commercial priorities to realize the opportunities enabled by our expanded global platform."
Integration and growth priorities
Borouge International said it continues to implement its integration and growth priorities by using its global scale, technology and market reach to strengthen performance and resilience across the business. The polyolefins company is focusing on sustainable growth, execution of its strategic priorities and the creation of long-term value for shareholders.
