Arburg Thailand marks 25 years of local operations
Arburg marked the 25th anniversary of its Thai subsidiary during an arburgXcellence Day for customers and partners. The event also included the retirement farewell for Managing Director Khun Ratree Boonsay.
Arburg (Thailand) Co., Ltd., founded in 2001, marked 25 years of operations during an arburgXcellence Day held on 9 October 2026. Together with the company's earlier presence through a representative office, Arburg's sales history in Thailand extends over around four decades. The anniversary event in Bangkok brought together customers and partners and included the presentation of electric injection moulding machines, partnership awards and a farewell for Khun Ratree Boonsay, the long-serving Managing Director of the Thai subsidiary, as she entered retirement.
On behalf of the Board of Management and the company, Steffen Kroner, Managing Director of Finance, Controlling, IT and Global HR at Arburg, conveyed congratulations from the headquarters in Lossburg, Germany. He presented Khun Ratree Boonsay with a commemorative sculpture marking 25 years of Arburg in Thailand. Kroner also thanked the ten-member Thailand team for its long-standing work and commitment.
Local operations developed over several decades
Arburg supplied its first two machines in Thailand in the 1990s to a customer that continues to use the company's equipment. A representative office opened in the country in 1992. As the local presence expanded and the South-East Asian market gained importance, Arburg established a dedicated organisation in Thailand in 2001.
Khun Ratree Boonsay, who had previously managed the representative office, became Managing Director of the new subsidiary. In 2019, the branch moved to its current premises in Samut Prakarn, a suburb of Bangkok. The 705-square-metre site includes Arburg's largest showroom in South-East Asia.
Shift towards electric injection moulding machines
According to Khun Ratree Boonsay, the Thai market has changed as more international companies have established production facilities in the country and technical requirements have increased. She also pointed to a transition from hydraulic to electric machinery.
"The number and size of international companies with production facilities in Thailand is increasing, requirements are constantly rising, and the market is shifting from hydraulic to electric machines. Our customers value us as a competent partner in application engineering, in the turnkey sector and in service", she said.
Machines and partnership awards
During the arburgXcellence Day, Arburg presented its new electric Allrounder Trend machines to customers and partners. The company also gave Partnership Excellence Awards to Polynet Public and Unique Sea Products in recognition of their long-standing cooperation with Arburg Thailand.
A further award was presented to the Thai-German Institute in Bangkok and Chonburi, a non-profit educational institution and technology transfer centre. The event concluded with the retirement farewell for Khun Ratree Boonsay.
