Emerson will present the latest Branson welding and joining technologies at the MSV International Engineering Fair, which will take place on 6-9 October 2026 at the Brno Exhibition Centre. The company's display will be located in hall G1, stand 55. The event, held in parallel with PLASTEX and WELDING, attracts manufacturers and engineering industry specialists from Central Europe. Emerson announces the presentation of solutions intended for suppliers and OEM manufacturers producing plastic and metal components, who need to ensure consistent quality and high precision in welding processes while adapting to new materials, part designs and changing production volumes.

Emerson's stand will feature the Branson Polaris ultrasonic welding platform, laser welding and heat staking technologies, automation solutions and communication gateways for integration with Industry 4.0 systems. These solutions are intended for applications in various sectors, including automotive, medical devices, consumer electronics and packaging. According to the company, they are designed to support joining process optimization, increased production efficiency, reduced downtime and improved product quality.

Branson Polaris ultrasonic welding platform

Visitors to the stand will be able to speak with Emerson experts, attend live demonstrations and see examples of solutions from the Branson welding and joining technology portfolio. One of the displayed machines will be the Branson Polaris Advanced welder, demonstrating the capabilities of the newly introduced, highly configurable Branson Polaris ultrasonic welding platform.

The system consists of generators, controllers and actuators that can be configured according to application requirements. This allows manufacturers to start with a manual benchtop welder intended for process development, proof of concept and low-volume production, and then scale the solution to a fully automated production line.

The presentation will show the use of real-time process data and secure communication with higher-level systems such as PLCs. These solutions are intended to provide operators with greater process transparency and better control over equipment operation. According to Emerson, this enables users to improve processes more effectively, increase overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) and more easily carry out process validation in industries subject to strict regulatory requirements.

Heat staking and laser welding

The Branson GPX PulseStaker station, using a cobot, will present the PulseStaking technology live. The solution optimizes the heat staking process used to join complex, delicate and temperature-sensitive components with plastic parts.

The GPX platform uses localized heating and cooling to protect adjacent components. The elimination of vibration, contamination and burn marks is intended to ensure high joint quality, product aesthetics and lower energy consumption. The technology gives designers greater freedom in using materials with different properties, parts with complex 3D geometries and delicate components such as sensors and PCBs.

The Branson GLX-1 Laser Welder will present Simultaneous Through-Transmission Infrared (STTlr) laser welding technology, intended for joining micro parts and small plastic components. Visitors will be able to see how the compact servo-driven system combines high joint strength and quality with process speed and flexibility.

Optional OPC UA and Ethernet/IP communication interfaces address industry demand for automation and IIoT solutions associated with the Industry 4.0 concept. The GLX series also includes machines intended for larger parts and more complex applications.

Automation and communication in the production environment

Emerson will also show examples of specialized automated Branson machines. They are intended to illustrate how key welding and joining technologies are supplemented with additional assembly and automation functions to create complete production systems. The solutions include integrated feeding and part handling systems, as well as multi-station assembly machines. Turnkey systems are designed for specific customer requirements and adapted to their production goals. This approach is intended to help increase production throughput and repeatability while reducing labor input and shortening cycle time.

A separate presentation will focus on communication gateways, showing the integration of Branson welders with modern smart manufacturing environments. Data Interface Gateway (DIG) enables up to 10 welders to be connected to the customer's IT network via OPC UA. The system automatically recognizes connected devices, provides information about their status and process data, and enables machines to be controlled from the production system.

Fieldbus Interface Gateway (FIG) connects Branson devices with production line controllers and automation systems via a fieldbus. It provides status and process data and enables control of up to 10 welders. Service Interface Gateway (SIG) provides secure VPN-based remote service access, enabling online support, diagnostics and software updates carried out by the Emerson service team. It also offers local functions such as synchronization and backup of setpoint parameters, user accounts, and date and time settings between multiple Branson devices. This functionality will be presented in a dedicated display.

Branson will be present at MSV 2026 in hall G1, stand 55, where it will present its range of material welding and joining technologies.

the leading worldwide manufacturer of plastics joining equipment including ultrasonic, linear and orbital vibration welders, hot plate welders, laser IRAM welders, infrared welders, thermal welders and spin welders for assembling thermoplastics.
