TiTE x IHT 2026 targets international hardware buyers
TiTE x IHT 2026 will bring 450 exhibitors and more than 100 hosted international buyers to Taichung on October 20–22. The event will combine supplier meetings, product sourcing and access to nearby manufacturing plants.
The 2026 Taiwan International Tools & Hardware Expo x International Hardware Expo Taiwan, TiTE x IHT, will take place on October 20–22 at the Taichung International Convention and Exhibition Center, TICEC. Co-organized by the Taiwan Hand Tool Manufacturers' Association, THTMA, and Lanza International Co., Ltd., the trade show will feature 450 exhibitors across more than 1,000 booths. The organizers have secured more than 100 hosted international buyers, the largest delegation in the event's history, despite continued uncertainty in global markets. More than 25 international trade media outlets are also expected to attend. The show is intended for hardware distributors, brand owners, importers and other trade professionals, with the program linking exhibition activity to supplier assessment and visits to manufacturing plants in the surrounding industrial region.
International outreach and buyer profile
In anticipation of sourcing demand associated with supply chain realignment, Lanza International expanded its overseas promotion in Europe, Asia and the Americas. The company exhibited at the International Hardware Fair Cologne, the Global DIY Summit in Amsterdam and Automechanika Frankfurt. In Asia, its representatives attended the Japan DIY Homecenter Show, the China International Hardware Show in Shanghai and Automechanika Ho Chi Minh City, where they met distributors, brand owners and importers.
The hosted buyer delegation represents five continents. North America, led by the United States, accounts for the largest share, which the organizers attribute to continued sourcing demand from the US market. Buyers will also come from Germany, Japan, Southeast Asia, India, the Middle East and Latin America.
Cooperation with Japan has been reinforced through a reciprocal exchange between TiTE x IHT and the Japan DIY Homecenter Show. The arrangement is intended to strengthen links between the hardware and home improvement retail sectors in both countries. Mitsuki Takeda, Vice Chairman of the Japan DIY Homecenter Association, will attend the opening ceremony and deliver a keynote address at the Global Hardware Innovation Summit.
Factory access within the Taichung industrial region
Taichung is a major center of Taiwan's hardware and hand tool manufacturing sector. According to the organizers, a complete supply chain is accessible within a 20-minute drive of the venue, including material processing, forging, heat treatment, surface finishing and final assembly. These operations extend across the wider Taichung-Changhua-Nantou industrial belt.
The regional supply base consists of closely connected small and medium-sized manufacturers capable of high-mix, low-volume production. TiTE x IHT incorporates this concentration of suppliers into its "Exhibition as Factory" model. Buyers can discuss and confirm specifications at the exhibition before visiting production lines on the same day to assess quality control procedures and delivery capabilities. The organizers state that this approach can reduce a supplier evaluation process that would usually require weeks of cross-border coordination to one day.
THTMA Executive Director and Yu Sheng Precision Tools General Manager Hsieh Chih-Chien, center, represented the association at Automechanika Frankfurt. The visit formed part of the international promotion of TiTE x IHT and its "Exhibition as Factory" sourcing model.
Pre-show sourcing meetings
On October 19, one day before the exhibition opens, the International Trade Administration of Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs, ITA, with Taitra as the executing agency, will organize individual sourcing meetings between nearly 60 international buyers and Taiwanese suppliers. The meetings will cover hardware components, plumbing fixtures and hand tools.
Participants will then be able to visit TiTE x IHT and nearby factories from October 20, combining business meetings, product sourcing and factory audits in one trip. As the event is held immediately after the Canton Fair, the organizers also position Taichung as a subsequent destination for buyers already sourcing in Asia. They expect domestic and international trade attendance to reach a new high.
AI, smart manufacturing and lower-carbon production
The event's theme is "From Manufacturing to Co-Creation: AI Empowerment & Smart Upgrading." It reflects a shift from the previous edition's focus on supply chain resilience toward cooperation between Taiwanese manufacturers and international partners in product development. The program also addresses the adoption of artificial intelligence and smart manufacturing.
The exhibition will comprise eight zones, including tools and accessories, metalworking, automotive repair and electric vehicles, fasteners and digital manufacturing. It will maintain green exhibition standards under ISO 14067 product carbon footprint certification. The organizers also refer to the Taiwan-US reciprocal trade agreement as a factor supporting the export competitiveness of Taiwan's hand tool, plumbing and machinery industries by placing Taiwan on equal footing with Japan, South Korea and the European Union.
"Through tariff negotiations, overseas expansion, and shifting order patterns, Taiwanese manufacturers have continued to win customers on the strength of their technology and reliability, and global confidence in Taiwan's supply chain has only grown stronger," said Alan Hsieh, Chairman of the Taiwan Hand Tool Manufacturers' Association. "We are especially grateful to the International Trade Administration for organizing the pre-show sourcing meetings. The Association will continue to support our members in smart manufacturing and low-carbon transformation, and in co-developing higher-value products with international partners."
"Today's buyers want more than a look at products. They want to evaluate suppliers and make sourcing decisions as efficiently as possible," said Andrew Liu, General Manager of Lanza International Co., Ltd. "This year, our team visited six major trade shows and extended our outreach to the Americas to introduce buyers to Taichung's industrial strengths. Together with the Association, we are committed to making Taichung the first stop for global buyers sourcing Taiwanese hardware."
