The Spectura series comprises three portable sphere spectrophotometers for colour measurement and quality control. The platform integrates instruments with cloud services, NetProfiler software and digital quality control workflows.

X-Rite Pantone launches Spectura spectrophotometers

X-Rite Pantone is launching the Spectura series, a next-generation platform of portable sphere spectrophotometers that combines colour measurement with digital quality management workflows. The solution is intended to help manufacturers reduce colour-related errors, accelerate decision-making and maintain consistency between the laboratory and the production floor.

The platform is designed for companies managing colour across distributed plants, supplier networks and different materials. According to the company, manufacturers must meet tighter tolerances while shortening approval cycles. However, in many production processes, measurement data still has to be transferred manually before analysis, limiting information transparency and delaying corrective action.

“Colour quality cannot be managed separately with a single instrument, at one plant or by one supplier,” says Ben Spiegel, Director of Product Management at X-Rite Pantone. “As production becomes increasingly distributed, organisations need integrated workflows that ensure colour data consistency across all locations where decisions are made. Spectura provides this foundation, helping teams reduce variability, respond faster and improve consistency throughout the colour management programme.”

Laboratory-grade measurement in a portable platform

Spectura offers laboratory-grade measurement performance in a rugged, portable design. The platform architecture includes advanced optics, positioning using a high-resolution camera, temperature-aware measurement, purpose-designed accessories, secure cloud connectivity, NetProfiler integration and support for future applications.

High inter-instrument agreement across X-Rite portable and benchtop systems is intended to help maintain consistency between established colour standards and production results. Reducing measurement differences is designed to provide a foundation for integrated colour quality management.

Secure cloud connectivity based on X-Rite Color iQC technology enables colour and instrument performance data to be transferred directly into digital quality control workflows. The solution reduces the need for manual data transfer. Quality managers can analyse production results on an ongoing basis, identify issues faster, reduce rework and collaborate across plants and suppliers using a shared source of colour data.

Three models for different applications

The Spectura platform combines measuring instruments, cloud services, NetProfiler software and modular applications. The series comprises three models intended for different quality control tasks:

  • Spectura S60, for portable colour comparison;
  • Spectura S62, for routine quality control;
  • Spectura S64, for tighter tolerances and agreement with Ci7800 benchtop spectrophotometers.

“The future of colour quality control depends on connected systems that provide access to reliable data wherever decisions are made,” says Spiegel. “Spectura is already helping manufacturers improve colour reproduction quality while preparing them for evolving regulatory requirements, including CRA compliance.”

Spectura series presentation at Fakuma 2026

X-Rite Pantone will present the Spectura series at booth 1307 in hall B1 during Fakuma 2026, which will take place from 12 to 16 October in Friedrichshafen, Germany. A live presentation is scheduled for 13 October at 10:00.

A global launch scheduled for 21 October 2026 will provide a detailed overview of how Spectura instruments connect colour measurement and quality control workflows across the enterprise. The Spectura series is already available.
