The stated price is for 1,000 Pencom TAZ-M5-8.40 inserts (equivalent designation: 136M5). Prices for other series, sizes and lengths are available on request.

TAZ-M5-8.40 (equivalent to 136M5) - technical specifications:

- M5 thread; self-tapping brass insert with cutting grooves, without a flange
- length: 8.40 mm; diameter: 7.50 mm
- hole diameter: 6.90-7.20 mm; hole depth: 9.30 mm; minimum wall thickness: 2.70 mm
- 45° entry chamfer; 1° hole taper
- symmetrical design - can be screwed in from either end

Pencom threaded inserts are screwed into a prepared hole and cut their own thread in the material during installation. They are suitable for thermoplastics, thermosets and resins where heat or ultrasonic installation is not possible. They can be installed without heating, using a power screwdriver or hand tool, and do not require a special press.

Series:

- TAZ - cutting grooves, symmetrical design (no orientation required for automatic feeding); M2-M10
- TAZH - with flange; TAZRH - with reduced flange
- SSZ (Screw Zerts) - with a cutting slot, for weak materials and applications where the screw may pull out the insert; M2-M12

Hole specifications for TAZ inserts (hole diameter, minimum wall thickness):

- M3: hole 4.10-4.40 mm; wall thickness 1.65 mm
- M4: hole 5.80-6.10 mm; wall thickness 2.30 mm
- M5: hole 6.90-7.20 mm; wall thickness 2.70 mm
- M6: hole 8.00-8.40 mm; wall thickness 3.15 mm
45° entry chamfer; 1° hole taper.

Applications: TAZ - thermoplastics, thermosets and resins; SSZ - thermoplastics and thermosets, including weak materials.
Material: brass, with stainless steel available as an option.

We can help select the hole diameter for the material. For thermosets, we recommend a short trial on the component. 2D drawings and 3D models (STEP) are available on request.
