More than 60 apprentices and trainers will join Arburg's trade fair team in Friedrichshafen for the "Mold your dreams, mold your future" Career Friday at Fakuma on 16 October 2026. The family-owned company will use the event to present its apprenticeships, degree courses and direct-entry career opportunities to school pupils, students and young professionals. The programme will include guided tours of the stand based on the "Smartest Factory" theme, demonstrations of virtual training tools and a prize draw. Professor Andreas Fath of Furtwangen University, known as the "swimming professor" and an Arburg brand ambassador, will also attend.

"'Mold your future' is not just our motto for Career Friday at Fakuma, an event that we wholeheartedly endorse, but is one that applies to Arburg in general. As an industry pioneer and innovative family-run business, we are actively shaping the future of plastics processing", explains Training Manager Michael Vieth. "We are always on the lookout for motivated school pupils, students and young professionals who are interested in innovative technologies, mechanical engineering and future-oriented topics relating to digitalisation".

Activities at the exhibition stand

Professor Andreas Fath will participate in the programme as part of his work on clean waters and the prevention of microplastic pollution. In his role as the "swimming professor", he has swum the entire length of major rivers including the Elbe and the Danube. At the stand, he will answer visitors' questions and discuss how the use of plastics can be reconciled with sustainability.

Visitors will also be able to try a virtual welding machine using VR glasses. The equipment is used in Arburg training courses. A separate virtual application will provide a 360-degree tour of the Arburg Training Center at the company's headquarters in Lossburg. It can be accessed by attaching 3D glasses to a smartphone.

Young visitors will be invited to enter a prize draw, with three pairs of tickets to the Europa-Park Rust amusement park available. All participants will also receive a giveaway.

Training and recruitment

Arburg offers a training programme certified according to three quality standards. Over more than 75 years, the company has prepared over 2,400 young people for working life. Applications can be submitted online at www.arburg.com/info/ausbildung at any time.

Trainers and careers specialists will be available at the company's stand in Friedrichshafen. Interested visitors will be able to apply during Career Friday for an apprenticeship, a degree course or direct entry into the company.

Tours focused on digitalisation

Arburg's presence at Fakuma will centre on the "Smartest Factory" theme. Company apprentices will lead stand tours during Career Friday on 16 October at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. The tours will cover the company's approach to digitalisation, from injection moulding technologies with smart assistants and AI-supported functions to automation, turnkey systems and the digital networking of the complete production process.

The apprentices will explain how these technologies interact along the value chain. They will also provide information about the apprenticeship programmes and degree courses available at Arburg.
