Battenfeld-cincinnati has officially started a comprehensive modernisation of its Vienna site, marking the occasion with a ceremonial construction launch on 21 October. Siegfried Köhler, Managing Director of Battenfeld-cincinnati Austria, welcomed the guests and led them through the programme. The company, which manufactures extrusion lines for plastics processing, is investing several million euros in the project. The measures are intended to establish modern, high-performance production and confirm the company's long-term commitment to its operations in Vienna and Austria. The site employs around 145 people and has a central role within the international group. Since opening in 1978, it has developed into a centre of expertise for counter-rotating twin-screw extruders used in PVC pipe, profile and sheet applications.

Production and process upgrades

Production has been realigned since 2025 as part of a comprehensive lean transformation. The main elements include a new production layout, optimised material flows, the integration of a modern machining centre and further digitalisation of production and assembly processes. In parallel, the company is modernising the existing administration building.

"We are investing several million euros in the future of our site, sending a clear signal of our commitment to Austria and to our international customers and partners. Our aim is to combine productivity, modern technologies and attractive working conditions. Above all, this development is a joint achievement by our team, to whom I would like to express my special thanks," explains Siegfried Köhler.

The official construction launch begins the next phase of the modernisation programme. According to the company, the projects will reinforce Vienna's long-term role as an international production, development and service location and establish the conditions for further growth.
