Billion and Engel enter strategic partnership

French injection moulding machine manufacturer Billion SAS and Engel have entered into a strategic partnership with immediate effect. Under the agreement, Billion will remain the central point of contact for servicing existing Billion machines, while Engel will take on the role of recommended supplier for new equipment purchases. For customers, the companies present the arrangement as a way to maintain continuity for existing machine fleets and provide planning reliability for future investments. Billion will continue to operate as an independent company and will recommend Engel as its preferred machine supplier. Both companies are family-run businesses and point to shared values based on long-term, responsible decision-making for the benefit of customers, employees and partners as the basis for the cooperation.

A cooperation focused on service continuity

For existing customers, the companies state that day-to-day business will change very little. Billion will continue to handle its own service operations as before and remains the first point of contact for its customers. The change is that Billion customers can now also rely on the support of Engel, described in the announcement as a major European group with a global sales and service network, as well as global manufacturing and supply chain capabilities.

If additional resources are required, for example in specific countries, Billion will be able to draw on Engel's service network and technical expertise. According to the companies, this is intended to provide an additional safety net for customers while preserving the local service structure already known to Billion users.

Engel technology at Billion's Tech Centre

The partnership is also to be visible in practical terms. Customers will soon be able to see and experience an Engel solution live at Billion's Tech Centre. In addition to its existing sales office in Wissous, the cooperation gives Engel the opportunity to use Billion's facilities and to be physically closer to one of the plastics industry's key regions. The companies state that this will allow both teams to work more closely with customers.
