Hasco modernizes plate production in Lüdenscheid

Hasco is modernizing production at its headquarters in Lüdenscheid through a new manufacturing concept for standard plates, special plates and standard bars. The investment includes an updated machine park and process changes intended to support more competitive production in Germany. Manufacturing workflows are being reorganized to improve material flow, shorten internal transport routes and maintain high availability. The company is also expanding the range of products manufactured directly at the site and continues to use high-quality stress-relieved steels and modern production technologies for tool and moldmaking applications. According to Hasco, the changes are designed to combine efficient use of machinery, materials and processes with the quality, flexibility and delivery speed required by customers worldwide. "Everything we do starts with the customer. Every process, every innovation and every decision has one clear objective: to create genuine added value, with maximum clarity, speed and simplicity," said Markus Büngers, CEO of Hasco.

Modernized machine park and shorter production routes

The transformation of the machine park is a central part of the project. The new equipment is intended to enable flexible, high-performance production of a broad range of plates and standard bars. By increasing in-house manufacturing capacity, Hasco plans to produce more items directly in Lüdenscheid.

The revised production layout is also expected to shorten manufacturing and transport routes. Processes, raw materials and machinery will be coordinated to improve efficiency. Hasco states that these measures will support cost-effective production even where requirements concerning quality, flexibility and delivery speed are high. For customers, the intended results are increased product availability and shorter response times.

Stress-relieved steels for tool and moldmaking

The modernized production concept covers plates and bars in a wide range of dimensions and versions. Hasco uses high-quality stress-relieved steels intended to meet the requirements of tool and moldmaking. The combination of these materials with new machinery and optimized processes is designed to maintain consistent product quality.

"Our commitment to this site is a commitment to the highest quality and excellence," said Axel Maerevoet, EVP Operations & Logistics at Hasco, summarizing the transformation project.

Lüdenscheid remains the central manufacturing site

The investment confirms Lüdenscheid's role as Hasco's central manufacturing site and as the production base for supplying customers worldwide. The modernization has two stated objectives: to maintain high-performance, cost-effective manufacturing in Germany and to align production more closely with customer requirements in international markets.
