Imago starts series production of Vision Box AGE-X6

Imago Technologies GmbH, a specialist in industrial embedded vision systems, has announced the start of series production of the Vision Box AGE-X6. The industrial PC has been developed for demanding machine vision and artificial intelligence applications. According to the company, the platform is aimed in particular at machine builders and system integrators that want to implement different vision applications on a standardized hardware platform while retaining the option to adapt computing power to future requirements. The system is intended for both classical machine vision tasks and compute-intensive AI applications, including configurations with multiple cameras.

Scalable hardware for vision applications

The Vision Box AGE-X6 is based on 14th-generation Intel Core Embedded processors. It features up to four USB4 interfaces, each offering data transfer rates of up to 40 Gbit/s. These interfaces allow the connection of external GPUs, high-speed storage devices or additional interfaces, depending on application requirements.

The scalability of the platform is intended to support applications in which machine vision requirements increase over time. This may include the use of higher-resolution cameras, the addition of further inspection tasks or the deployment of deep learning functions. In such cases, computing performance can be expanded without replacing the base system. Software, cabling and control cabinet layout can remain largely unchanged.

Fanless design and real-time synchronization

The Vision Box AGE-X6 is compact, fanless and designed for industrial 24/7 operation. In addition to support for Windows and Linux, the industrial PC includes IMAGO’s Real Time Communication Controller, RTCC, for precise synchronization of cameras, lighting and I/Os.
