Interpack China 2026 to cover the packaging value chain

Interpack China 2026 will take place from 16 to 18 November 2026 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC). As a member of the interpack alliance, the event will cover the complete packaging value chain, including processing and packaging machinery, packaging materials and containers, innovative packaging materials and products, printing, labelling and packaging design. It is intended for brand owners, manufacturers and export-oriented companies seeking processing and packaging solutions. The exhibition transfers the technological scope and experience of the Düsseldorf event to Shanghai, while selecting suppliers with a view to local and regional market requirements. According to information provided by the organiser, nearly 80% of visitors hold key corporate decision-making authority. This profile is intended to support direct discussions between suppliers and companies planning investments in packaging equipment, materials and production processes.

Solutions for eight end-user sectors

The exhibition will address the requirements of food, beverage, confectionery, bakery, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, non-food and industrial goods packaging. It will also include solutions relevant to catering, e-commerce, logistics and packaging production.

The presented technologies are expected to help users reduce the risk of downtime, upgrade automation and maintain stable mass production. By bringing machinery, materials, containers, printing, labelling and design together at one event, the organisers aim to provide a single venue for evaluating solutions across processing and packaging operations.

Sustainability, smart packaging and automation

The main topics at Interpack China 2026 will include sustainable packaging solutions designed to minimise environmental impact, smart packaging technologies intended to improve consumer engagement, and developments in automation aimed at increasing efficiency and quality.

The event was formerly known as swop, Shanghai World of Packaging. According to the organiser, its previous edition brought together packaging industry buyers from 122 countries and regions. The organiser also reports that 96% of visitors were directly involved in investment decisions, indicating a high share of attendees with purchasing or decision-making responsibilities.
