Lindner introduces Urraco ECO mobile shredder

Lindner has added the Urraco ECO mobile twin-shaft shredder to its product range, positioning it as an entry-level model in the premium segment. The machine is designed for waste wood, green waste and commercial waste applications, with its motor and drive concept adapted to these material streams. It can be used for both pre-shredding and volume reduction.

The launch follows the introduction of the Urraco EVO series for heavy-duty applications in autumn 2025. According to Lindner, the new model was developed in cooperation with customers and in response to their specific operational requirements.

The machine was developed together with our customers in response to their specific needs, and this is precisely where our innovative strength lies. The outcome is a reliable, mobile twin-shaft shredder that excels in every way from its useful life to its low overall operating costs," said Matthias Egarter, CEO of Lindner.

Applications and drive concept

The Urraco ECO is designed to process all classes of waste wood, as well as green and commercial waste. Its motor and drive system were configured specifically for these applications.

"The requirement was clear. Building on the pioneering technology of the Urraco EVO, the new model was developed with smart simplification in mind, without compromising Lindner’s core expertise," said Andreas Klapf, Head of Development at Lindner.

Maintenance and operating costs

Lindner designed the Urraco ECO with a focus on robustness, service life and maintenance access. The machine combines the company’s Skyflap with a fast-exchange system. According to Lindner, this allows the entire cutting system to be replaced in under 2.5 hours.

"The combination of Lindner’s Skyflap and the fast-exchange system means that the entire cutting system can be replaced in under 2.5 hours. This offers a high degree of flexibility and maintenance efficiency. And the Urraco ECO also scores well in terms of operating costs with a reduction of up to 30%," said Thomas Huber, Product Manager Mobile Shredding.

Debut at the International Partner Days

The Urraco ECO made its debut in September at Lindner’s International Partner Days in Spittal an der Drau, Austria. Representatives of the company’s international subsidiaries and sales partners from more than 30 countries attended the event. A live shredding demonstration was used to present the quality, robustness and throughput of the new Urraco series.

Representatives of Lindner’s regional organisations indicated that the machine could address customers entering resource management, municipal waste organisations and companies that do not require heavy-duty equipment. They also pointed to potential applications involving the processing of wood into biomass.

"With the Urraco ECO we can reach customers who want to start with resource management and are looking for a premium product that fits their investment framework, innovative, robust and long-lasting," said Wulf Schnellwanich, Sales Manager at Lindner Germany.

"The new twin-shaft shredder makes it possible for municipal waste organisations, for example, to process a range of materials at a reliable throughput and low cost," added John Gregory, CEO of Lindner America.

Vincent Roger, Sales Director at Lindner France, described the model as "an important door opener for customers who don’t need heavy-duty machines, without compromising on quality".

Frederico Hartmann, Managing Director of Lindner LATAM, expects "to open up an entirely new category of customers, especially those who want to process wood into biomass". Jeffrey Loo, Area Sales Manager at Lindner Asia Pacific, added that "the Urraco ECO scores well when space is limited and for low fuel consumption and purchase costs".
