Matriq to show in-mold part marking at Fakuma 2026
Matriq will present an integrated solution for permanent marking of plastic components directly in the injection molding process. The live demonstration combines a KEBO mold, an ARBURG injection molding machine and partner technologies.
Matriq will demonstrate intelligent part marking directly within the injection molding process at its booth during Fakuma. Together with ARBURG, KEBO, HB-Therm and Borouge International, the company will present an integrated solution for the permanent marking of plastic components. The live demonstration focuses on Matriq's marking technology, which is integrated into a modern KEBO mold and shown on an ARBURG injection molding machine. Visitors will be able to see how unique Data Matrix Codes are applied directly to molded parts during production. According to the information provided, the approach enables traceability of every individual component without additional process steps or secondary marking operations. The presented system is also intended to support process reliability, data quality and digitalization across the value chain.
Direct marking during molding
The solution shown at the booth is based on applying part identification inside the injection mold. This means that the code is created as part of the molding process itself, rather than being added later by a separate marking station. The demonstration will include live production on an ARBURG injection molding machine and direct part marking within the injection mold.
After molding, the produced sample parts will be read and verified immediately at the booth. The presentation is intended to show the interaction between ARBURG, KEBO and Matriq in a complete production setup.
Traceability of individual plastic components
Matriq describes the concept as a method for assigning a unique code to every part directly in the mold. The company states: "Every part. Uniquely marked. 100% traceable. Directly in the mold." The showcased application uses Data Matrix Codes to support identification and traceability at part level.
The technology is presented under the concept "marking plastic smart" by Matriq. The exhibition setup will also include the participation of HB-Therm and Borouge International as partners in the integrated demonstration.
