Sidel to present edible oil filling machine

2026-10-21

Sidel's new edible oil filling machine handles containers with capacities ranging from 0.5 to 5 litres. The equipment is designed to provide filling accuracy of 0.5 g per kilogram of oil.

The Sidel Group will present a new high-performance filling machine for edible oils at CibusTec 2026. The equipment will be displayed in Hall 3 during the event, which will take place from 27 to 31 October in Parma, Italy. The machine uses weight measurement and has been optimised for filling accuracy and precision. According to the manufacturer, its design is intended to eliminate both underfilling and overfilling, reduce waste associated with first-bottle measurements and simplify operation. The solution was developed for edible oil producers and bottling companies operating in a market characterised by a wide product range and growing customer requirements. The machine combines weight measurement with automatic product quantity correction and solutions that reduce vibration during operation.

“With our new filler, we are meeting the needs of edible oil producers and bottling companies by providing very precise filling, ease of operation and efficiency, as well as minimum energy consumption,” said Davide Sighinolfi, Vice-President Food, Home and Personal Care at Sidel.

Solutions to improve filling precision

Brushless motors reduce vibration. The filling process uses all the time available in the production cycle, allowing the product to be dispensed at the optimum speed. The machine also carries out automated “oil in flight” measurements. The system calculates and corrects the amount of oil remaining in the air between the filling valve and the container when the valve closes.

According to Sidel's data, the solutions used provide filling accuracy of 0.5 g per kilogram of oil and a standard deviation of 0.8 g.

Container range and format changeover

Each component of the filling machine is controlled by its own servo motor. This is intended to support operating efficiency and flexibility and facilitate predictable equipment maintenance.

The same machine can fill containers with capacities ranging from 0.5 to 5 litres, made of PET, HDPE and glass, as well as cans. Format changeover is immediate and requires no tools.

High-efficiency brushless motors are intended to reduce electricity consumption compared with conventional solutions. The consumption monitoring function makes it possible to control equipment operation and its compliance with predefined targets.

Extension of Sidel's portfolio

The new filling machine complements the Sidel Group's portfolio, which includes packaging solutions, line design and integration, and services covering the life cycle of packaging lines.

“Edible oils are a key market for Sidel, and this new filler is an important step towards strengthening our product portfolio for the food industry by combining filling precision, flexibility and efficiency, providing tangible benefits for our customers' packaging lines,” added Sébastien Sergues, Portfolio Director for Food, Home and Personal Care, Wines and Spirits.
