SKZ confirms its re-accreditation as a recognised BMW test laboratory
SKZ has been re-accredited as a recognised BMW Group testing laboratory following interlaboratory testing of thermoplastics. The institute remains listed as a qualified laboratory on the BMW B2B portal.
SKZ has successfully been re-accredited as a recognised testing laboratory for the BMW Group following thermoplastics testing. According to the institute, the results confirm the comparability and reliability of the tests it performs. SKZ has been listed for the BMW Group standard GS 93016 in the field of plastics and thermoplastics since 2019. For the approval of raw materials and materials, the BMW Group requires extensive technical specifications as well as testing by an accredited laboratory.
Interlaboratory tests are an essential quality assurance tool for testing laboratories. They allow test results from different laboratories to be compared objectively and provide evidence of technical competence and performance. Regular participation in relevant proficiency or interlaboratory tests is mandatory for accredited testing laboratories. The tests provide an independent assessment of testing performance and indicate how reliably and reproducibly a laboratory operates in comparison with other qualified facilities.
Results of thermoplastics testing
In the latest DRRR interlaboratory comparison, SKZ achieved very good results in almost all tests. The determined Z-scores were significantly below the critical threshold in almost every test area. According to SKZ, this confirms a high degree of agreement between its measurement results and those obtained by other qualified testing laboratories.
As a result of the overall performance, SKZ remains listed as a qualified testing laboratory on the BMW B2B portal.
"The results once again demonstrate the high quality of our testing activities, as well as the technical competence and expertise of our laboratory team," said Dr Marcus Heindl, Head of the Testing Laboratory at SKZ. "The successful re-qualification confirms that our testing procedures deliver reliable and reproducible results. This is an important prerequisite for the development and validation of high-quality plastic components in the automotive industry."
