Uniwell Rohrsysteme has adopted Syensqo’s AvaSpire PAEK compounds to produce corrugated flexible plumbing hoses for Grohe faucet systems. The polymer targets a cost and performance gap, enabling streamlined extrusion-based production and addressing durability and potable water requirements.
By the end of the current month, polypropylene prices are expected to remain stable with a marginal decline. Although increased activity is observed among converters, particularly in PP homopolymer, this is not a broad-based trend.
Röhm GmbH founder Dr. Otto Röhm has been posthumously inducted into the Plastics Hall of Fame. The ceremony in Düsseldorf on the eve of K 2025 recognized 18 pioneers from the chemical industry.
SABIC presented the theme "Connecting everyday life" at K 2025, grouping its innovations into five areas and highlighting EV platforms, circular feedstock and applications for consumer and industrial products.
Although the October ethylene price was unchanged, HDPE, LLDPE and LDPE prices are expected to fall next week. Weak market conditions and persistently low converter activity are the drivers.
Syensqo has introduced a proprietary chemical recycling process that depolymerizes polyarylethersulfone from post-industrial and post-consumer streams into purified monomers for reuse. The company says the monomers can be reintegrated into PSU, PPSU and PESU, supporting circularity.
Röhm has commissioned a new sulfuric acid plant at its Worms site, reinforcing its global MMA and PMMA production network. The modern unit replaces a facility damaged in 2023 and supports regional MMA supply.
The situation on the Polish polypropylene market remains stable but difficult. Low demand and the presence of cheap imported material are limiting the ability of producers and trading companies to maintain polypropylene prices.
Radiation crosslinking opens up completely new possibilities for polymers: Precise crosslinking can improve mechanical properties, increase heat resistance and abrasion resistance, and significantly increase chemical resistance.
If someone tried to trace their everyday life without plastic today, it would quickly prove to be an almost impossible task. Plastics have become so ubiquitous that it is difficult to notice how quickly everyday items turn into waste.
Röhm’s Europe-wide PMMA recycling alliance reports significantly higher recovery rates and delivers a taillight demonstrator with 30% mechanically recycled content, developed with Valeo and the Renault Group’s consortium The Future Is Neutral.
