X-Rite Pantone to present solutions at Fakuma 2026
At Fakuma 2026, X-Rite Pantone will present systems for measuring, formulating and quality-controlling the colour of plastics. The company has also announced a demonstration of a new portable colour measurement solution.
Ensuring consistent colour in plastics is becoming increasingly complex due to the growing use of recycled materials, the implementation of sustainability initiatives and tighter customer specifications. The challenge extends across the entire value chain, from material formulation and production to final quality control. At Fakuma 2026, X-Rite Pantone will present solutions for managing colour at individual stages of plastics processing. Their use is intended to support reductions in colour variability and waste, as well as decisions concerning product compliance with defined requirements. The company has also announced a demonstration of a new portable colour measurement solution designed for workflow integration and modern production conditions. The solution is scheduled for its official launch in October 2026.
Colour design and formulation
In the area of specification creation and design, Pantora appearance simulation software will be presented. The tool enables industrial designers and suppliers to create digital replicas of physical materials for 3D rendering. The material data can then be shared without the need to ship physical prototypes.
Formulation solutions will include Color iMatch software, which automates recipe selection and is intended to streamline the colour-matching process. The system is complemented by the Ci7860 benchtop spectrophotometer, designed to capture colour data used by formulation specialists.
In-process measurement and quality control
The ERX130 spectrophotometer is intended for measurements directly on the production line. The instrument performs non-contact measurements using a large measurement spot, which is designed to provide consistent readings on textured, patterned and glossy samples.
The Ci7800 benchtop spectrophotometer can be used, among other applications, to inspect incoming raw material pellets. It accommodates samples of different sizes and shapes and enables reflectance and transmittance measurements. The CiF3200, in turn, is designed for inspecting small, irregular or multicoloured parts, including highly reflective samples. Its minimum measurement area is 2 mm.
The portfolio will be complemented by Color IQC software, which integrates quality control tasks and supports decisions concerning colour compliance.
Instrument and measurement data management
In the area of service and technical support, the company will present the My X-Rite environment. This free customer platform consolidates the management of X-Rite instruments, software, service and documentation in one place. It provides access to information on instrument status, certifications, warranties, repairs and service requests.
NetProfiler is used to verify the calibration and optimisation of measurement instruments. The solution is intended to reduce inter-instrument variation and support the generation of consistent colour data.
Demonstration at Fakuma 2026
X-Rite Pantone will exhibit at Fakuma 2026, held from 12 to 16 October at Messe Friedrichshafen in Germany. The company's stand will be located in Hall B1, stand 1307. A demonstration of the new solution is scheduled for 13 October at 10:00 a.m. Visitors will also be able to arrange an individual demonstration with the company's experts in plastics colour measurement and quality control.
