Hosokawa Alpine introduces modular AWX winders
Hosokawa Alpine has expanded its blown film machinery portfolio with the modular AWX winder series. The units accommodate film widths from 1,000 to 3,200 mm and offer standard production speeds of up to 150 m/min.
Hosokawa Alpine has introduced the AWX series of winders for blown film production. The modular design allows the equipment configuration to be adapted to specific applications and production requirements. Customers can select the functions and performance features needed for a particular production line, rather than using a fixed configuration. According to the machinery supplier, this approach is intended to support cost-effective plant design throughout the equipment life cycle and provide flexibility when production needs change. The series extends the company's portfolio of machinery and systems for film extrusion.
"Thanks to the modular concept, we can tailor the winder precisely to different applications and production requirements. This provides investment security and enables a cost-effective plant design throughout the entire life cycle," said Michael Heinecker, Senior Vice President of Blown Film Extrusion at Hosokawa Alpine.
Film widths and production speeds
The AWX series accommodates film widths ranging from 1,000 to 3,200 mm, covering a broad range of blown film applications. Standard production speeds reach up to 150 m/min and can be increased where required.
In addition to its standard features, the series can be equipped with options for more demanding winding processes. These include gap winding and reverse winding modes, as well as automatic detection of the winding shaft and core diameter. The functions are intended to simplify operation and improve process reliability during routine production.
Roller and temperature control options
Hosokawa Alpine also offers different width-stretching roller concepts for the AWX series. Available temperature control solutions include cooling rollers and temperature control units.
These options enable the winder configuration to be adapted to different film materials, process conditions and quality requirements. The modular structure therefore allows the AWX series to address varied production tasks while retaining the functions needed for each application.
