How the Wintec t-win combines speed, resource efficiency and investment security

At Fakuma 2026, Wintec will present a live production run of coat hangers for Leifheit to demonstrate the capabilities of the t-win series in high-volume manufacturing. The exhibit is based on a t-win 6500 with 6,500 kN clamping force, configured as a near-standard two-platen machine. According to the company, the concept addresses requirements that are common in production environments facing skills shortages, tight deadlines and limited investment budgets. The machine is intended to offer short dry cycle time, high availability and operation without costly special equipment. The demonstration is designed to show how time pressure, limited resources and investment security can be combined in one production cell, particularly when manufacturers need to start production quickly with a reliable machine and straightforward operation for semi-skilled staff.
The exhibit at Fakuma
On the stand, the t-win 6500 uses a 4+4-cavity family mould to produce four hanger bodies and four hooks at the same time. Each geometry is moulded separately within the tool. A viper 20 linear robot removes the parts and places the components onto a conveyor belt.
With a cycle time of about 40 seconds, the cell reaches an output of around 360 coat hangers per hour. The application processes a polypropylene copolymer from Borouge International, formerly Borealis.
Machine concept for availability and output
The Wintec t-win 6500 is designed for high production volumes without compromising on quality or budget. Its configuration remains close to standard, while the manufacturer points to short cycle times, high repeatability and low reject rates as differentiating features compared with comparable machines on the market.
The company emphasises fast availability and fast start-up. Whether supplied from stock or with a short lead time, straightforward commissioning is intended to put the machine into production without additional detours. The focus is on proven, robust technology rather than unnecessary extras, which reduces maintenance requirements. Despite specialised functions, the machine does not require expensive optional equipment, lowering the investment required.
Wintec identifies several user benefits from the machine concept. The two-platen design gives the system a short footprint, freeing up floor space for additional equipment without extending the production hall. The servo-hydraulic two-platen system provides fast clamping force build-up and synchronous locking, which supports shorter cycle times, more parts per hour and lower energy costs per part. A robust, field-proven design with easily accessible maintenance points is intended to reduce downtime and cost per part. The control system can also be upgraded later, allowing additional functions to be added without investment in a new machine.
The t-win series uses a friction-free two-platen design. Because the mounting platen never touches the tie bars, the clamping unit runs virtually wear-free, precisely and quickly, combining rigid mechanics with high platen parallelism. The injection unit is also designed for speed and efficiency. Linear guides ensure low friction, low energy consumption and high accuracy during injection and holding pressure.
The C3 control system, equipped with a 15-inch full-HD touchscreen and one-touch operation, is intended to make the machine intuitive to operate, including for semi-skilled personnel.
Assistance systems as standard
Even in its standard configuration, Wintec customers use Engel's intelligent iQ assistance systems. The key element is iQ weight control, a self-regulating system that keeps the injection volume constant. According to the company, this results in significantly lower reject rates, higher productivity and faster ramp-up after downtime, regardless of fluctuating ambient conditions.
