Wosana starts up second KHS line in Turów
Wosana has started up a second KHS filling line for mineral and spring water at its Turów plant. The investment, worth more than PLN 50 million, is expected to ultimately double the facility's production capacity.
On 9 September, Wosana S.A. officially opened a second KHS filling line for mineral and spring water at its plant in Turów. The start-up completed one of the most important stages of an investment worth more than PLN 50 million and increased the plant's production capabilities. Guests attending the event were able to see the new line in operation and learn about the solutions implemented as part of the project. The expansion also included the construction of a production and warehouse hall, the automation of internal transport and the deployment of solutions designed to improve energy efficiency. Once full production capacity is reached, the investment is expected to ultimately double the plant's potential. Wosana expects the additional capacity to be used both for its own portfolio and for projects carried out on behalf of external business partners.
Second KHS line at the plant
The new line was supplied by KHS and is the second system from this manufacturer operating at Wosana's Turów plant. It was designed for the production of mineral and spring water in 0.5-litre packaging, with the option to further expand the range of packaging formats.
The start-up of the additional line increases the plant's flexibility and enables it to handle both Wosana's own product portfolio and projects carried out for business partners. The company also intends to use the plant's growing capacity in cooperation with companies planning to develop products in the water category or increase the scale of their existing sales.
"The opening of the second KHS line in Turów marks not only the completion of another stage of a major investment, but above all an increase in our ability to cooperate with customers. We want to be a partner for companies that are considering developing products in the water category and are looking for an experienced manufacturer offering the right scale, flexibility and high quality standards. Thanks to the investment in Turów, we are significantly increasing our operational capabilities and creating capacity for further customer projects in Poland and abroad," says Andrzej Odzioba, President of Wosana S.A.
Infrastructure expansion and automation
The opening of the second KHS line concludes several months of work related to the plant's expansion. The investment included new production and warehouse infrastructure, enabling production and logistics functions to be combined in a single facility.
"The start-up of the second KHS line demonstrates how much our plant's capacity has changed. The new infrastructure gives us greater efficiency, flexibility and the ability to carry out projects for different customer groups. At the same time, the solutions used allow us to maintain high quality standards, automate further processes and keep occupational safety at the highest level. This is an important moment for the entire team in Turów," says Rafał Kabacik, Director of Wosana S.A.'s Turów plant.
The investment is being implemented with the support of the Katowice Special Economic Zone. The project also included expanding the photovoltaic installation to a total capacity of approximately 0.5 MW, implementing automated pallet transport and deploying solutions that support reductions in energy consumption.
Projects for external partners
Wosana is developing both its own brands and production for external partners. By increasing the capacity of its Turów plant, the company intends to expand cooperation with businesses considering entering the water category, creating their own brand or increasing the scale of their current production.
The support offered to partners covers preparation of the production process, filling and adaptation of the packaging format to the requirements of a given project. The company also points to flexibility and the ability to respond quickly to the changing needs of business customers.
