ALPLA launches mono-material PP foam dispenser pump

ALPLA is expanding its pump portfolio with a recyclable foam dispenser made from a single polymer. Developed by the company's injection moulding division, ALPLAinject, the patented system is manufactured entirely from polypropylene and contains no metal components. It is intended for personal care and pharmaceutical products and is compatible with bottles in various volume sizes.

The standard version weighs 25 grams. Its twistlock function is designed to reduce the space required during transport and on retail shelves. The product is available in a standard configuration and can also be customised. Customers can select the colour and shape of the dispenser head and closure. The ecological footprint can be further reduced by incorporating post-consumer recycled material, known as PCR.

"Premium care products deserve high-quality and well-designed packaging. The dispenser is the most important point of contact. We can offer our customers a tailor-made, durable and, for the first time, recyclable solution for foamers," said Sree Hari R Nair, Global Head of Business Pumps and Devices at ALPLAinject. Following completion of the pilot phase, ALPLA plans to work with anchor customers on commercial production.

Recyclability and commercialisation

According to the company, the mono-material design is intended to address future regulatory requirements and strengthen circular material flows in national markets. The development builds on ALPLA's existing mono-material dispenser pumps and adds a foam dispensing system to the company's product range.

ALPLAinject will present the new foam dispenser pump at Beautyworld Middle East, taking place in Dubai from 6 to 8 October 2026.
