Xyron m-PPE materials for ADAS in-vehicle cameras and head-up displays

Asahi Kasei will present a range of polymer material developments at Fakuma 2026, covering applications in automotive electronics, vehicle glazing, battery systems, metal injection molding and electrical components. The exhibits will include coated slotted waveguide antenna samples for automotive radar applications, based on Xyron m-PPE materials, as well as Leona polyamide solutions for electrical systems and binder materials for MIM processes using Tenac POM. The company will also show a polycarbonate automotive front window coated with its hard coating technology, intended to support the use of polycarbonate as a substitute for glass in selected vehicle window applications.

Xyron m-PPE for radar, batteries and industrial systems

At Fakuma 2026, Asahi Kasei will showcase coated slotted waveguide antenna samples for automotive radar applications. By enabling lightweight, highly precise and cost-efficient antenna designs, Xyron supports the next generation of connected and autonomous vehicles.

Xyron m-PPE is also presented as a material platform for automobile batteries. According to the information provided, it offers a balance of electrical insulation, flame retardancy, lightweight properties and dimensional stability for industrial applications. Exhibits will include solutions for data center busduct systems, battery cell holders and PCR-PS+PPE sustainable material concepts.

Tenac POM binders for metal injection molding

Asahi Kasei will present Tenac POM binder materials for metal injection molding processes through sintered parts. The exhibit is intended to highlight the contribution of these binder materials to improved molding productivity and part quality in MIM applications.

Leona PA for electrical and electronic components

The company will also present Leona PA materials, including flame-retardant PA66 and high-CTI tough PPA solutions. These grades are intended for glow-wire connectors, transformer components, SMT connectors and power modules. The materials combine flame retardancy, high tracking resistance, mechanical durability and reliable performance at elevated temperatures, supporting safer and more compact electrical systems.

Modifiers and polycarbonate hard coating

Asahi Kasei will also show Tuftec and S.O.E. as modifiers for resins and elastomer compounds.

In the area of polycarbonate hard coating, the company will display an automotive front window made of polycarbonate and coated with Asahi Kasei’s hard coating. The coating is described as a novel water-based system that enables the use of polycarbonate as a glass substitute in automotive front, rear and side window applications.
