Envalior to present lower-carbon materials at Fakuma 2026
Envalior will present mass-balanced PPS and recycled-content engineering materials at Fakuma 2026. The portfolio includes drop-in grades intended to reduce product carbon footprints and support compliance with automotive recycling requirements.
Envalior will showcase its evolving portfolio of more sustainable engineering material solutions at Fakuma 2026, taking place from 12 to 16 October in Friedrichshafen, Germany. The company is developing materials intended to help customers reduce environmental impacts while retaining the mechanical, thermal and chemical properties required for high-specification components. The exhibits will include mass-balanced grades based on certified feedstocks and engineering plastics containing post-consumer recycled material. Envalior says that several of these grades are drop-in alternatives, limiting the need to modify component specifications or tooling. The company supports its material development through targeted collaborations and ISCC Plus certification across its network. Visitors will be able to discuss the solutions with Envalior specialists in Hall B4, stand 4302.
"In line with our Envalior Cares strategy, we are committed to enabling concrete environmental impact reductions for customers. Encompassing both widely used and specialist grades, our sustainable portfolio leverages a balance of feedstocks, supported by broad ISCC Plus certification across our network. In many cases, grades are drop-in alternatives that help to reduce product carbon footprint with minimal adaptations in terms of specification or tooling. Through focused development streams, we’re working to ensure we can deliver more sustainable material alternatives for even the most demanding applications," says Artur Völk, Circular and Low Carbon Solutions Lead at Envalior.
Bio-attributed PPS with a lower product carbon footprint
The new Xytron B-MB portfolio of bio-based mass-balance polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) will be displayed for the first time at Fakuma 2026. It contains 100% bio-attributed carbon and uses ISCC Plus-certified bio-circular feedstock derived from second-generation biomass.
According to Envalior, the portfolio provides the same mechanical, thermal and chemical properties as conventional Xytron grades while reducing the product carbon footprint by up to 40%. The drop-in materials are intended to help component manufacturers meet product specifications and environmental targets, including targets relating to Scope 3 emissions. Envalior’s mass-balanced products are independently audited by a third party under ISCC Plus certification, providing material attribution across the value chain.
Other drop-in mass-balance materials in the portfolio include Arnitel B-MB TPC, EcoPaXX B-MB PA410, Stanyl B-MB PA46, Durethan M-B2 PA6 and M-XB PA6, and Pocan M-XB PBT.
Recycled PA6 and PBT for automotive applications
Envalior is also developing material pathways intended to support compliance with the European Commission’s proposed End-of-Life Vehicles Regulation (ELVR). In collaboration with technology scale-up Secara, the company is exploring the incorporation of high-quality post-consumer recycled content into technical material grades using Secara’s catalytic depolymerisation process.
The process uses plastic from end-of-life vehicles as feedstock and converts it into drop-in quality caprolactam for PA6 production. Envalior says this route could allow customers to meet the ELVR’s closed-loop post-consumer recycled content requirements with PCR-derived PA6 suitable for demanding automotive applications.
A material already available in the company’s portfolio is the PCR Pocan T series, based on PBT and PET and containing recycled material sourced in the EU. The range offers up to 60% recycled content, including 30% mechanically recycled PET. According to Envalior, its performance is broadly equivalent to that of comparable Pocan grades containing PET derived from virgin feedstock.
EcoVadis Gold status retained
Envalior has retained its EcoVadis Gold Medal status for a second consecutive year. The company achieved a score of 88 out of 100, placing it among the top 5% of businesses assessed by EcoVadis in the 12 months preceding the medal’s issue date.
"Maintaining our Gold Medal status for the second consecutive year represents a significant achievement given the overall rise in sustainability management standards across the industry. We are proud to be counted once again in the top 5% of companies assessed, and we are committed to building on this success, as well as the learnings, to deliver further targeted improvements. By pursuing smarter sourcing, greater transparency, and operational improvements across our network, we can continue to leverage our position in the value chain to support customers in making more sustainable choices, while systematically addressing the environmental and social impacts of our business," says Günter Margraf, Director of Sustainability at Envalior.
