Oerlikon HRSflow upgrades T-Flow HRS controller
Oerlikon HRSflow has introduced a new generation of its T-Flow HRS multi-zone thermal control unit. The controller manages 6 to 144 hot runner heating zones and adds guided setup, remote display options and smartphone-based service support.
Oerlikon HRSflow has unveiled a new generation of its T-Flow HRS multi-zone thermal control unit for hot runner systems. Presented for the first time at Fakuma 2026, the controller has an upgraded design and extended functionality intended to improve the reliability and precision of hot runner temperature management in injection moulding applications. The unit combines a guided quick-start interface with several display configurations and support for different numbers of heating zones. Depending on the selected configuration, one device can manage from 6 to 144 zones. Its reduced width and depth are intended for production environments where available installation space is limited. The controller also incorporates functions for leakage detection, continued operation after thermocouple failure and short-circuit protection.
Guided setup and flexible display options
The quick-start interface guides operators through the principal configuration steps. These include wiring verification, automatic grouping of zones, temperature setting and the configuration of advanced functions. According to the company, the guided procedure is designed to support a fast and reliable setup from the first production cycle.
The T-Flow HRS can be supplied with an integrated high-resolution display for operation directly at the control unit. Alternatively, a larger external display can be mounted on top of the unit or positioned at a distance of up to 10 metres. The available configurations cover applications requiring between 6 and 144 heating zones in a single controller.
Despite its smaller footprint, the control unit provides leakage detection and comprehensive protection against short circuits. If a thermocouple fails, the system can continue operating, limiting the effect of the fault on production.
Smartphone-based troubleshooting
The new controller includes a smartphone-based service function intended to simplify technical support and reduce downtime. Users can scan a QR code with a smartphone to obtain information about potential alarms and access a step-by-step troubleshooting guide. This removes the need to search through manuals and is designed to shorten fault diagnosis and machine stoppages.
Oerlikon HRSflow states that the new-generation T-Flow HRS is supported by a dedicated team providing assistance before and after purchase. The company also offers extended warranty coverage for Multiflow HRS systems purchased together with the T-Flow HRS thermal control unit.
