The Feddersen Group at Fakuma 2026
At Fakuma 2026, the Feddersen Group will present compounds, digital development tools, distribution services and contract compounding solutions. Feddem will separately showcase its FED 18 MTS laboratory extruder.
The Feddersen Group will present solutions for plastics processing at Fakuma 2026, focusing on resource efficiency, system reliability and global supply capability. The group’s companies will exhibit at a joint stand in Hall B2, Stand 2213, while Feddem GmbH & Co. KG will operate a separate stand in Hall A6, Stand 6217. The portfolio covers AI-supported component development, recycled and high-performance materials, distribution services, supply-chain management and customised contract compounding. The presentation responds to pressures affecting plastics processors, including sustainability requirements, cost constraints and volatile international supply chains. At the joint stand, Akro-Plastic GmbH, K.D. Feddersen Distribution, K.D. Feddersen Ueberseegesellschaft mbH, M.Tec Engineering GmbH, AF-Color and PolyComp GmbH will outline material, engineering and production solutions for different stages of the plastics value chain.
Compounds for thermal protection and recycled-content targets
Akro-Plastic will focus on customised compounds, application-specific material solutions and regulatory compliance. One exhibit will be Akroloy PARA GF 35 1 FR orange (8039), developed for protection against thermal runaway in battery systems. According to the company, a component with a wall thickness of 2 mm can be exposed to temperatures above 1,000°C for ten minutes while its rear surface remains below 100°C. The material combines strength and thermal insulation, while the limited wall thickness can reduce component weight and installation space. Short injection moulding cycles are also intended to reduce unit costs.
The company has also extended its Akromid Eco family with compounds based on post-consumer recycled polyamide 6, classified according to DIN EN ISO 14021:2021. The materials contain more than 30% recycled content and are described as technically comparable with virgin compounds. As an example, Akromid B3 GF 30 Eco black (9172) has a 38% lower partial product carbon footprint than Akromid B3 GF 30 1 black (2485), according to calculations based on DIN EN ISO 14067:2018. The materials could also contribute to meeting regulatory targets such as those associated with the End-of-Life Vehicles Directive.
"We look forward to discussing projects where sustainable materials are required," says Thilo Stier, Director of Sales and Innovation at Akro-Plastic.
A kayak manufactured by Zeisberg Carbon will demonstrate large-format additive manufacturing. The structure, which is more than five metres long, was 3D-printed from Akrolen PP ICF 30 AM black (8344), a carbon fibre-reinforced polypropylene. The reinforcement provides rigidity and limits warpage, enabling the production of a component of this size. The polypropylene has low density and, according to the compounder, absorbs very little water. The company states that the process can also support mould-free production of one-off parts and small batches. Further components from customer projects will also be displayed.
Distribution, polymers and digital customer services
K.D. Feddersen Distribution will present its material portfolio and services for processors facing cost, efficiency, performance and sustainability requirements. "With our broad portfolio and our expertise in materials, we support plastics processors in finding the right material solution for their applications," says Karen Kaufmann, Head of Sales for Germany at K.D. Feddersen GmbH & Co. KG.
A new distribution partnership with Styrenix adds Asalac ASA and Styroloy blends to the portfolio. The range includes PC+ABS, ASA+PMMA and PA-ABS blends for demanding applications. The distributor will also introduce an expanded range of PEEK-based materials under the Zypeek name from Jilin Joinature Polymer Co., Ltd. A new digital customer portal is intended to provide centralised access to product information and other services.
K.D. Feddersen Ueberseegesellschaft mbH will focus on resilient international supply chains for technical polymers used in compounding and extrusion. "K.D. Feddersen Ueberseegesellschaft mbH has been supplying technical polymers for compounding and extrusion applications for many years. Our primary focus has always been, and is now more than ever, on expanding global supply chains. We therefore support our customers with multi-sourcing strategies and customised warehousing and logistics solutions to help reduce supply chain risks, even during times of international crisis," said Silke Hamm, Head of the Polymers & Compounding Technology division at K.D. Feddersen Ueberseegesellschaft mbH.
Alongside PBT, PA6, PC and PLA, the company will introduce long-chain speciality polyamides and several copolyesters. The materials are intended for compounding as well as film, sheet and filament applications.
AI-supported development and circular material concepts
M.Tec Engineering will present engineering methods for managing increasing system complexity in product development. Its approach combines plastics engineering with systematic development methods to shorten project times, reduce costs and improve reliability. The company’s M.Opt tool uses artificial intelligence to optimise components and reduce development risks. It will also present design-for-recycling strategies intended to improve the economic viability of circular economy concepts.
AF-Color will focus on customised colour, black and additive masterbatches for technically demanding polymers including PA, PBT, PK and TPU. The formulations are adapted to the material, processing method and application, with functional additive masterbatches becoming an increasingly important part of the portfolio. Recent production investments have expanded the company’s capacity and flexibility. Circular product ranges will be introduced under the AF-CirColor, AF-CirCarbon and AF-CirComplex names.
Contract compounding from laboratory to production scale
PolyComp will present its capabilities in large production runs, low-volume batches, development samples and customised formulations. The company has invested in a FED 26 MTS laboratory extruder to serve start-ups, development departments and customers requiring samples, trial batches or specialised compounds.
The line is intended to enable precise, application-oriented compound development at laboratory scale. Formulations can subsequently be transferred to production scale, while small quantities and development batches can be manufactured according to individual requirements. PolyComp offers both standard compounds and customised formulations containing additives and fillers.
Modular laboratory extrusion at the Feddem stand
At its separate stand in Hall A6, Feddem will present the FED 18 MTS laboratory extruder for formulation and product development. The machine is designed to provide precise and reproducible results within a compact footprint. Its modular configuration allows the process length to be adjusted from 32 L/D to 52 L/D without modifying the frame, cooling system or control system.
Plug-in supply lines allow rapid reconfiguration for different applications. Optional modules include the FSB side feeder and the FSV side vacuum degassing system, which are intended to provide practical options for scaling formulations from development work to larger production equipment.
